In a large bowl, whisk the egg and sugar for about 30 seconds. Add the vanilla extract and melted butter and whisk until well combined.. Preheat oven to 350F degrees. In large bowl, mix the vanilla cake mix, melted butter, egg whites, vanilla and buttermilk together thoroughly for 1-2 minutes. Pour batter into cupcake liners and bake 18-20 minutes. Let cool until ready to frost.

Whisk cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together. Separately whisk eggs, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla..
